Brigitte NaHoN
US Israeli - French Artist
French-American artist Brigitte NaHoN born in Nice graduated in Fine Arts: Master I at Provence University, Master II at Paris Sorbonne University in 1985 has received several awards and grants. Among them: Yuri Stern Honors, The Villa Medecis Hors Les-Murs, First prize in Sculpture at Salon de Montrouge, Aide à la création artistique at FRAC Paris-Ile-de France. She's currently based in Tel Aviv - to achieve a state of balance after having lived for 15 years in New York City.
For more than 35 years, Brigite NaHoN’s work has been a constant search to find the moment of life, the point of equilibrium when the inner self reaches a new harmony with the outer world with an infinity of possibilities. Her aesthetic goal is to give a sense of freedom by an unexpected balance of materials and shapes that she uses with no limitation. It is a daily attempt to reach new ways of seeing, to feel the surrounding space, the spectators and ourselves.
By exploring the limits of life with subtle and radical oppositions, physically and mentally, NaHoN questions fragility and solidity, heaviness and lightness, transparency, emptiness and fullness of space using an un-limited variety of materials, of forms, of lines, with or without color. NaHoN creates a link between the paradoxes of life to reach essential suspended feelings of balance, of un-limited ways to see the same sculpture using small or large dimensions of works, on site-specific or not. With no restraint of materials, the viewer
can recognize NaHoN's poetic, magical and universal world, her pursuit and quest of a perfect balance in an unbalanced world.
NaHoN's works have been presented in numerous solo and group exhibitions worldwide: Tel Aviv (Bruno Art Group), Seoul (Pink Gallery), Moscow (Galerie Iragui), Paris (Jérôme de Noirmont Galerie), New York City (Cristinerose Gallery and Stephan Stoyanov Gallery), Rio-de-Janeiro (CCBB Rio), London (Serpentine Gallery) and so on.
Her works belong to several international public and private prestigious collections: The Jewish Museum of New York City ; Hudson Valley MOCA in Peekskill, NY ; The Mallins in Poundrige, NY ; Progressive Inc. in Mayfield, OH ; The European Hospital Georges Pompidou and Medical Researches European Center in Paris ; FNAC (French national contemporary collection) in Paris ; Fmac (Contemporary Art Collection of the City of Paris) ; Carrie Shapiro and Peter Frey in New York City ; Jérôme et Emmanuelle de Noirmont in Paris ; Viviane Bregman in New York City ; Toby Devan-Lewis in Austin, CO ; Diane Venet in Paris ; The Lauro Giardini in Città della Pieve, Umbria ; Jack and Wiesje van Hulst in Richmond Hill, GA and so on.
Clearly it has been a true honour to have Brigitte NaHoN's generous participation in the fundraiser.

Shira Lederman
Canadian Israeli Artist
Shira was born in Toronto, Canada and moved with her family to Israel as a baby. Growing up in the City of Raanana, Shira was raised in two cultures and her art was profoundly influenced by both. Although she has lived her life immersed in Israeli society and influenced by the colors, sounds, anxieties and joys of a mediterranean culture sometimes at war, Shira spent her summers in the Prairies of Canada at her grandparents farm in northern Saskatchewan where the big skies and golden fields of wheat crops filled her dreams.
Shira studied art under Israeli painter Leonid Balaklav and acquired her appreciation for the nuance of color and texture from him. Her current style of art was inspired by her travels in south east asia where her encounters with local artists introduced her to the technique of layering textures and colors to tell a story.
Shira currently studies textile design at Israel’s premier design school - Shenkar College of Engineering and Design.
Her art is contemporary, fresh and original.
Shira lives with her husband and son in Ra'anana, Israel

Sam Griffin
Painter
Living and working in Israel.
Sam Griffin is a London born artist based in Israel. After studying painting in Cyprus, he went on to study at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design.
In an attempt to connect with his Eastern European Jewish ancestry, Griffin uses mark making and erasure to create ghostly images, that evoke memories of a long lost world.
The painting "Chassidic Gathering" describes the practice of Chassidic Jewish men to ritually gather together, sing traditional songs, listen to their Rebbe, and open their hearts to one another.
Griffin has covered the canvas in layers of oil paint, and used turpentine to wipe it away, exposing the white canvas underneath and revealing the image in the process.
This technique blurs the image making it seem almost like a dream. The artists is describing the experience both as an active participant, and as an outsider looking in.

Igal Guinerman
Chilean born Israeli Artist
Living and working in Jerusalem.
"Although I have been painting on and off my entire life, the beginning of my art career I can trace back to 2007. It was at this point that I embarked upon an endless spiritual journey, one that is continuously taking me to new places and heights. It was in 2007 that I began to study Jewish wisdom and philosophy in Israel, to embrace the Torah, as I continue these studies to this day.
Artistically speaking, my work is a balancing act of colors, shapes, lines, textures, abstraction, figurativeness, and even text. My pieces are intuitive, raw, and emotional, with strong colors and deep contrasts.
My work, as is my life, is an exploration of Jewish Religious themes and figures. I incorporate in my work aesthetics that have roots in diverse movements: from informalism to pop art; from abstract to expressionism. I draw from many sources, but I would describe myself as an autodidact. My inspiration comes from my heart; and my heart absorbs the day-to-day life and practice as a Torah observant Jew living in the Holy City of Jerusalem.
I am fascinated with Jewish aesthetics. I borrow powerful visual imagery from religious figures, rituals, traditions, and sacred objects, and blend them with abstract forms. My pieces are a combination of spiritual and physical narratives. The elements are sharply defined —and other times very subtly defined— with lines or shapes, and sometimes even painted over to be revealed again.
I like to explore the relationship between the spiritual realm and the everyday life. How spirituality becomes tangible in the world through ritual observance and personal practice. My work is a dialogue between the spiritual and the material world."
